Shrek the Musical Jr. premiered on May 30th and 31st with a cast of thirty students under the leadership of the director, Ms. Brittney Barnes.
On Friday, May 30th and Saturday, May 31st at 7pm, Shrek the Musical Jr. premiered at Westminster Community Charter School with our talented cast of student actors. It was comprised of thirty students from fourth through eighth grade (nine of which are eighth graders), four student assistants and stagehands, plus three surprise cast members from the school’s faculty – all of whom worked tirelessly to bring this vision to life. For the past 26 years, our school musical has represented a long-running, annual tradition for families in the Kensington/Bailey community.
After many long hours of practices, Westminster is proud to announce that it is celebrating 31 years since the school started doing musical productions. A huge thank you to the director, Ms. Brittney Barnes, and Mr. Keith Panek, for his hard work on putting all the sets together. This production is a testament to the 30 years of partnership between M&T Bank and Westminster Community Charter School. M&T has always supported Westminster students in their strong art and academic endeavors, especially for the musical that students and families alike look forward to each year.
