“All children need is a little help, a little hope and, someone who believes in them.” Earvin “Magic” Johnson
Westminster Community Charter School presented their annual Holiday Showcase featuring three small ensembles to include choir, band and steel drums proudly showing off their musical talent. There were also musical performances by our kindergarten through second grade students sure to put you in the holiday mood! Additionally, we were honored to have the esteemed former Buffalo Philharmonic’s Music Director, Maximiano and his wife Jody Valdes attend our winter concert.
Shortly before students and staff headed off for a much-needed holiday break, Buffalo Promise Neighborhood hosted a Winter Celebration at Westminster Community Charter School. Families were able to share a hot meal generously donated by West Herr Automotive, lovingly prepared by 516 Connections, and served by our dedicated M&T Volunteers. It was a joy to see the smiles on children’s faces as they were able to create seasonal crafts, decorate cookies and use a pop-up photo booth to make gifts for family and friends.
Once again this year, thanks to generous donors like West Herr Automotive, Wegmans Food Markets, Highmark Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Once Upon a Time Books, board members, M&T employees/volunteers as well as Westminster and BPN staff, 100+ families received holiday gift bags full of fun activities including games and puzzles sure to create cherished holiday memories.
Additionally, we would like to recognize M&T’s Credit, Audit and, Commercial Credit divisions who adopted families in need from Westminster Community Charter School this holiday season. Thanks to these teams, families received wished for items allowing them to celebrate the season in a way that may have been impossible without their support. We continue to be amazed at the generosity and support from these groups year after year.
