Our Buffalo Promise Neighborhood Promise Scholar program is now entering its 10th year. Since inception fifty-nine student scholars have entered the program. This program, supported by the Wilmers and Czarnecki families allow deserving students at Westminster Community Charter School (Westminster) the opportunity to attend some of Buffalo’s best private high schools, tuition free thanks to their unwavering support and generosity.
Khamora Thomas
Khamora Thomas began her education at Westminster in kindergarten. She made a real connection with Mrs. Puma, her 4th grade teacher who served as a source of support, creating an environment that made school a place she looked forward to coming each and every day.
For Khamora, the BPN scholarship represents a life-changing opportunity. It will not only provide her with the chance to receive a quality education but also serves as a stepping-stone toward assisting her family in the future. When offering advice to future BPN scholars, Khamora emphasizes the importance of remaining focused and maintaining good grades.

Naomi Pratcher
Naomi Pratcher, an exceptional Westminster 8th grade student has proven that challenging work, dedication, and perseverance opens endless possibilities that will shape her future!
A student since first grade, she cherishes moments when friends offered unwavering support during a difficult time and how their constant encouragement left a lasting impact. Naomi believes that receiving the scholarship was significant because it affirms her capabilities and sets an example for her two younger nephews. She emphasizes the importance of resilience, knowing that setbacks are temporary, and you will always find a way to bounce back.

Anari Banks
Anari Banks began her educational journey at Westminster in kindergarten. Her recent acting stint in Frozen Jr. this Spring sparked her passion for performing arts. While she was apprehensive at first, with encouragement from teachers and friends she was able to overcome her fears and step into the spotlight.
For Anari, being awarded the BPN scholarship signifies the beginning of a new chapter in her life - one that will play a pivotal role in shaping her future. Anari encourages future scholars to listen to their own needs and follow the path that feels right for them and most importantly stay true to yourself.
Congratulations to Anari as she advances to high school at The Park School this Fall.
Acara Adams
Acara Adams began her educational journey at Westminster in kindergarten. Her dedication and hard work paid off when she was selected as one of this year’s BPN scholarship recipients. Acara has chosen to attend Sacred Heart Academy this Fall and was originally drawn to the school after she experienced the feeling of “sisterhood” during her Shadow Day visit last year. This sense of community and support left an impression, and she is excited to join the ranks as she begins this new chapter of her education.
Acara acknowledges that she will cherish the memories she made with her friends at Westminster. When asked about advice for future scholars, Acara emphasized the importance of hard work and never being afraid to try new things. The BPN scholarship is significant because she believes that it will positively impact her future. With this financial support she can confidently pursue her educational and career goals.

Aaliyah Ryan
Congratulations to Aaliyah Ryan on her well-deserved achievement being awarded the John R. Oishei Foundation High School Scholarship to attend Nardin Academy! This prestigious scholarship is given to thirteen students in the Buffalo-Niagara region. Aaliyah’s journey at Westminster began in kindergarten and while she looks forward to embarking on her new educational path at Nardin Academy, she reflects fondly on the memories she created with her teachers and friends at Westminster. The wholesome and supportive community at Westminster is what will always hold a special place in Aaliyah’s heart and is also what stood out during her visit to Nardin.
Being an Oishei scholar holds a significant meaning for Aaliyah - it showed her that hard work truly pays off and that anything is possible. Her advice for future scholars comes from the guidance and lessons she learned from her mother, to always strive for excellence and put your best foot forward in all that you do.
