As we celebrate a significant milestone, our 30th year in partnership with M&T Bank, we are proud to celebrate our 11th cohort of Buffalo Promise Neighborhood (BPN) Promise Scholars. Since its inception, sixty-four scholars have entered the program. Supported by the Wilmers and Czarnecki families, this program allows deserving students at Westminster Community Charter School (Westminster) the opportunity to attend some of Buffalo’s best private high schools tuition-free thanks to their unwavering support and generosity.
Dai’Mya Williams
We are proud to introduce Dai’Mya Williams as one of our newest Buffalo Promise Neighborhood scholarship winners who chose to attend Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart this year. Dai’Mya has been part of the BPN community since preschool, beginning at our Children’s Academy and recently graduating from Westminster. Dai’Mya is excited about her educational future and is grateful for the scholarship opportunity.
Jah’Monie Cramer
Congratulations to Jah'Monie Cramer, who was awarded a Buffalo Promise Neighborhood scholarship. She joined the Westminster family during the 2023-24 school year and is certain she made the right move! Jah’Monie knows that the valuable guidance from her teachers at Westminster has helped her grow, by exposing her to new opportunities through the many extracurricular programs offered at the school. She is excited to attend Mount St. Mary High School and believes she will be provided with the foundational skills needed to pursue her dreams of becoming either a lawyer or a social worker.
Rylee Peterson
Rylee Peterson, an exceptional Buffalo Promise Scholar, and winner of the prestigious Robert G. Wilmers award, is excited to begin her journey at Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart. Sacred Heart was always her first choice, and she has looked forward to starting high school since she began her 8th grade year at Westminster. The scholarship was crucial for Rylee because it made her dream of going to her school of choice a reality. While she is excited for the opportunities ahead, she will miss the fun she shared with her fellow Westminster graduates and will always keep those memories close to her heart.
Wesley Woods
We are proud to highlight Wesley Woods, another BPN scholar recipient. Wesley recently began his high school career at Canisius High School. He began his educational journey early on when he attended Buffalo Promise Neighborhood Children’s Academy and later transitioned to Westminster Community Charter School. Wesley is grateful to be awarded the scholarship because it is allowing him the opportunity to explore a variety of academic interests at a school where he feels welcomed and can make a difference.
Finally, we would like to spotlight two scholars from our first cohort, we are proud to announce that Aaron Adams was hired by M&T as a CAM Operations Development Program Trainee and Shala Wright continues to be an avid supporter at numerous Westminster volunteer events, her alma mater, further proof that this program has come full circle.
