Another successful Independent Health Good for the Neighborhood event is in the books!
Please join us at our school-based events as we begin to open the doors to our school community.
Established in 2006 by the Independent Health Foundation, Good for the Neighborhood is a free, community-based wellness program that brings health-related training and tools to areas where access to health care is limited. Individuals and families are encouraged to manage and improve their health by attending quarterly health fair style events and workshops. Good for the Neighborhood offers valuable health and wellness resources to participants where they live, work and play.
Westminster Community Charter School has been partnering with the Independent Health Foundation and has hosted Good for the Neighborhood for the past 5 years. These events are an easy way for our school community and surrounding neighbors to have one-stop access to health-related services.
We would like to share some first-hand observations from our recent event held in March 2022.
“You get easy access to information and resources, health checks, and free produce.”
JoAnne Batugowski, community member
“Being part of Good for the Neighborhood means strengthening the community. We are taking action by providing resources to the surrounding neighborhoods.”

“The Good for the Neighborhood Program is an asset to communities across WNY, especially in the 14215 area. The program provides free health screenings, fresh fruits and veggies, arts and crafts for youth, and other health resources from various community organizations.”
Raby Ba, Health and Wellness Project Coordinator - Independent Health
