We would like to shine a spotlight on some of our esteemed community members, Pastor and Mrs. Garmon! The Garmon’s have lived in Buffalo for many years, and Pastor Garmon has presided over Nazareth Missionary Baptist Church (located in Buffalo Promise Neighborhood) for 25 years.

The Garmon’s have been a staple in the Buffalo Promise Neighborhood community since it’s inception in 2011. In addition to volunteering and attending many community events, they have hosted various family-friendly activities throughout the years. They have also participated in door to door outreach campaigns, and were instrumental in developing a block club on Berkshire Avenue.

“The Garmon’s are 110% committed to our community. They are very active and participate in any way they can. If a member of our community is going through a tough time, they are the ones you turn to. They are the helping hands- they are there when you need them,” said Beverly David-Lewis, Director of Community Affairs at Buffalo Promise Neighborhood.

The Garmon’s are excited to see what the future holds for the neighborhood. “Buffalo Promise Neighborhood and M&T Bank have meant a great deal to this neighborhood. There is more vibrancy. We have more community involvement in meetings. The future looks bright,” said Pastor Garmon.

We are so grateful for the wonderful and dynamic community that we are a part of, but it is truly the members of that community who make it so special. Thank you to the Garmon’s for their generous spirits, compassion, and continued support- they are truly one of a kind!
