Exploring our neighborhood since Eight Days of Hope joined us last week has been so surreal! We have seen so many incredible transformations throughout our community. The volunteers were able to serve 375 families-what an amazing experience! We are so grateful to the Eight Days of Hope team and the 1,500 volunteers from 33 states and 3 countries that changed the lives of so many people through their efforts.

Over $750,000 of work was completed at no cost to the families, what a stunning undertaking! The tasks included 17 roofing projects, 15 houses received new windows, 20 homes were painted, 125 families had carpentry, plumbing, electrical, gutters installed, concrete or another types of home repair.

Many of the families impacted by these efforts were our very own Buffalo Promise Neighborhood families and community members. One especially notable community member is Ms. Doris. She is a veteran who served over 29 years, and a widow. It’s difficult to think of anyone more deserving of a home renovation!
