The Buffalo Promise Neighborhood Community Affairs program was born through a desire to help build strong relationships with community members in our neighborhood. We work with residents, school officials, faith based leaders, block club members, business owners, not-for-profit organizations and elected officials to maintain a vibrant, safe neighborhood and community for all.
In an initiative to improve access to healthy food in the neighborhood, BPN has partnered with Massachusetts Avenue Project (MAP) to bring fresh fruits and vegetables to the community. We have also partnered with area delis and corner stores to ensure they have fresh fruits and vegetables available on site.
Block Clubs are an important part of the community. Our neighborhood will be steeped in pride, and engaged to address the needs of the area.
Another important part of community engagement is the established community council, which has empowered residents to move into shareholder and stakeholder positions through active membership, as well as an executive board.
Throughout the year, our Community Affairs program hosts events as a commitment to the well-being of our residents and community members. Annually, Buffalo Promise Neighborhood facilitates a block club beautification, welcome back block party, holiday food drive, along with several other yearly events.
